2020 Season Cancelled
The Suburban Swim League met on Monday May 4th and recently informed us that they have made the decision to officially cancel the 2020 season.
As a board we are, as you might be, disappointed to lose this season but understand the decision, given the current circumstances.
In light of the decision, the Sierra Shark’s Board will be holding an emergency board meeting on Monday May 11th to discuss our teams response, how we will proceed as an organization, how we will manage our excellent coaching staff, the cancellation and refund process and any offerings we may be able to provide, if any, in 2020. We will provide more details as to how we will manage this situation and our plans for next season.
In a piece of great news, the SSL has also informed us that, as a league, they decided to make a onetime exception to allow 19 year old’s to participate in the 2021 season as long as they were on the roster for the 2020 season prior to the cancellation AND were on an SSL roster during the 2018 and 2019 roster AND participated in the league championship meet in 2018 and 2019. This allows our swimmers who would have aged out this year to participate for one more season! We hope to have you next summer so we can say a proper goodbye and thank you for your contributions!
If you are a coach hired for this year we will be reaching out to you to let you know how we will proceed. We want to especially say thank you to our coaches who would have been excellent, and especially head coach Rob Bowers. We hope sincerely to have you all on our team in the future!
If you have any questions please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope this email finds you in good health and safety and we look forward to the day when we will be able to see you again on deck!
